Elementary school boy and the Ninja Restaurant in Akasaka

(This blog is primarily intended for Japanese readers, but since I recently visited a restaurant that would likely be enjoyed by foreign tourists visiting Japan, I've decided to write this article in English just for this time. I apologize in advance for any unintended rudeness due to my unfamiliarity with the language.)

As the end of summer vacation approaches, the other day we took our child, who we lovingly call the "Whimsical Youngster," to an interesting restaurant.

True to its title, this restaurant is located in Akasaka, Tokyo.

NINJA TOKYO

This establishment resonates with the hearts of elementary school boys who are fans of ninjas. I enjoyed it myself, so I will explain it below.

1.What kind of place is it in the first place?

The introduction on the Japanese website "Tabelog" describes the restaurant as follows:

"This restaurant is quietly nestled in the Akasaka area. You will experience a training journey, passing through a long and dark path called the 'Ninja Way.' The dishes served at the restaurant are supervised by a chef who trained at a famous kaiseki restaurant. Enjoy the visually stunning <Ninjutsu> entertainment cuisine with exquisite ingredients, flavors, and appearances in an extraordinary setting. It's worth noting that a spell is required to reach the hidden ninja village."

In summary, it seems like a place that offers delicious food in an entertaining way.

2.Location and Exterior

The location is a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Metro's "Akasaka-Mitsuke" station.

The address is: "1F Tokyu Plaza Akasaka, 2-14-3 Nagatacho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo"

A fun ninja restaurant in places like Tokyu Plaza, Bic Camera, right in the heart of Tokyo??

If you don't know in advance, you'll definitely overlook it — the entrance is like this.

It's too difficult to find... If you zoom in a bit more, you'll see it.

There are several notices on the door.

When you ring the intercom, a ninja naturally comes to greet you. (← Staff)

Now, let the exciting and thrilling ninja experience begin!!

3.Interior

The interior is quite dimly lit.

It gives off a feeling reminiscent of a cave or dungeon.

Navigate through passageways with various gimmicks, using ninja skills (?), and proceed deeper and deeper.

By doing so, you can reach the ninja village.

This is our seat.

...It's fun!

Even our child, the "Whimsical Youngster," was a bit scared, but they enjoyed it.

4.Cuisine

The food is consistently enjoyable too!

Clearly designed with foreign tourists visiting Japan in mind, the decorations include items like swords and shuriken.

The staff fully embrace their roles as ninjas without any hesitation.

Dessert↓ Dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) and grated daikon radish??

Surprisingly delicious taste! It's like ninja magic!

5.Conclusion

As mentioned throughout the blog post, it seems the primary target audience is foreign tourists visiting Japan.

However, there were families with elementary school children like ours and couples as well.

Personally, I felt that this is a place worth taking elementary school boys who are fans of ninjas.

If there's any drawback... it's the high prices.

As the name "Ninja Restaurant" suggests, it is indeed a restaurant.

Yes, it's not a budget-friendly "family restaurant" where you can dine inexpensively in Japan.

If you're prepared for slightly higher prices, this ninja training experience should be a lot of fun.

With that said, this concludes the outing diary for the end of summer vacation.
